Quantification of Human Chorionic Gonadotropin by Bovine Serum Albumin Nanoparticles
Authors
Abstract:
Background and Aims: Some nanoparticles can be used in immunoassays to increase sensitivity. This study aimed to evaluate a novel nano-immunoassay based on bovine serum albumin nanoparticles (BSA NPs). Materials and methods: At first, the nanostructure was synthesized, and then applied as a tag in the nano-immunoassay. Then the concentration of β-subunit of human chorionic gonadotropin (βHCG) in the clinical samples was quantified by traditional enzyme-linked immunosorbent assay (ELISA), and then checked by the nano-immunoassay. Results: The Pearson’s correlation coefficient between ELISA and nano-immunoassay was high, i.e., 0.80. Relative sensitivity and specificity of this nano-immunoassay were reported 97.4% and 96.6%, respectively. Conclusions: BSA NPs can be applied in nano-immunoassays as a new structure, and as an example, βHCG can be detected by this novel assay.

full textRapid, automated quantification of total human chorionic gonadotropin in serum by a chemiluminescent enzyme immunometric assay.
Total human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG-hCG beta) in serum was assayed with the immulite system, a fully automated random-access immunoassay analyzer that has a unique centrifugal procedure for solid-phase washing and a chemiluminescent detection system. The broad range of the hCG calibration curve (up to 5000 IU/L) is achieved by using a small serum sample size (5 microL), which provides suffi...
full textProducing Gelatin Nanoparticles as Delivery System for Bovine Serum Albumin
Background: Progress in the field of biology and biochemistry has led to the discovery of numerous bioactive peptides and proteins in the last few decades. Delivery of therapeutic proteins/peptides has received a considerable amount of attention in recent years. Methods: In this study, a two-step desolvation method was used to produce biodegradable hydrophilic gelatin nanoparticles (GNP) as a d...

The interaction of bovine serum albumin ( BSA) and egg albumin with water solublephthalocyanine, cobalt (ΙΙ) 4, 4′ , 4′′, 4′′′- tetrasulfophthalocyanine ( CoTSPc) , has been studiedby the UV- Vis method at pH 7.0 and five different temperatures 20, 25, 30, 35 and 40°C. Theformation constants have been elucidated by using spectrophotometric titration and computerSQUAD program data refinement. Th...
full textHuman Chorionic Gonadotropin
A highly active preparation of human chorionic gonadotropin has been obtained by simple methods of column chromatography on diethylaminoethyl Sephadex and Sephadex G-100. The preparation appeared homogeneous by disc and immunoelectrophoresis, ultracentrifugation, and end group analysis. It assayed at 12,000 i.u. per mg by the rat prostrate gland and accessory sex organ method. The ~20,~ value w...
full textHyperglycosylated human chorionic gonadotropin in serum of testicular cancer patients.
BACKGROUND Hyperglycosylated human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG-h) contains larger and more complex carbohydrate chains than regular human chorionic gonadotropin (hCG). hCG-h is thought to be the major form of hCG produced by testicular cancers and it has been suggested to play a key role in tumor invasion, but studies on hCG-h in testicular cancer are limited. We studied whether serum hCG is hy...
